A Hamas-run court in Gaza has issued a 10-day ultimatum to notorious gang leader Abu Shabab, ordering him to surrender or face severe consequences.

Who is Abu Shabab?

Abu Shabab is the alleged leader of the Popular Forces, a criminal network operating in southern Gaza. The group has been involved in extortion, smuggling, and targeted violence. Local reports suggest the gang is believed to have indirect backing from Israel, though no formal confirmation has been made.

Court Order and Warnings

The court’s statement declared Abu Shabab a “fugitive from justice” and gave him 10 days to present himself to the authorities. After this period, he would be considered an outlaw, and any legal protection would be void.

Security Implications

The move is seen as part of a wider Hamas crackdown on crime and internal threats during a time of heightened tension in Gaza. Officials are reportedly tightening security and surveillance across Rafah and Khan Younis.

No Response Yet

As of now, Abu Shabab has not responded publicly to the court order. Sources suggest he may be hiding in a remote area with armed loyalists.
