At least 95 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks throughout Gaza on Monday, according to hospital sources, as violence escalated despite ongoing ceasefire talks. Among the dead were more than a dozen desperate civilians seeking food at US-Israel-backed aid distribution sites, highlighting the deepening humanitarian catastrophe.

The deadliest single attack struck an internet café where a children’s birthday party was under way. Israeli fighter jets bombed the building, killing at least 39 people.

A senior Hamas official told Al Jazeera:

“We are determined to seek a ceasefire that will save our people,” accusing Israel of “sabotaging the negotiations.”

Since the start of the war on Gaza, Israel’s military operations have killed at least 56,531 people and wounded 133,642, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The conflict was triggered by the October 7 attacks, when Hamas fighters killed an estimated 1,139 people in Israel and took more than 200 others captive.
