Gaza under attack

Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 80 Palestinians in the latest bombardment of the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The dead include women and children, with dozens more wounded in what is being described as one of the deadliest nights of violence since the 2021 war.

The Israeli military claimed the air raids targeted Hamas and Islamic Jihad infrastructure in Gaza, including alleged underground tunnels and command centers. However, witnesses on the ground report heavy shelling in civilian neighborhoods.

West Bank Settler Violence: 3 Palestinians Killed

In a separate but related development, Israeli settlers launched violent raids in several towns across the occupied West Bank, reportedly killing three Palestinians in Qusra near Nablus. Local sources said settlers, backed by Israeli forces, stormed the village, setting homes and vehicles on fire.

The Palestinian Authority has condemned the attacks as “organized ethnic cleansing,” demanding international intervention. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities stated they are investigating the settler incidents but did not confirm arrests.

International Response and Rising Tensions

The United Nations, European Union, and Arab League have all issued statements urging de-escalation and a halt to what human rights groups are calling “collective punishment.” Egypt and Qatar are reportedly trying to mediate a temporary ceasefire.

The death toll is expected to rise as search and rescue teams continue to retrieve bodies from beneath rubble in central and southern Gaza. Hospitals in Gaza are overwhelmed and operating with limited electricity and medical supplies.

Global Protests Erupt

Protests have broken out in major cities including London, Istanbul, Jakarta, and Amman. Demonstrators are calling for an end to Israeli aggression and voicing solidarity with Palestinians in both Gaza and the West Bank.

WSN 024 will provide continued updates on this developing crisis.
