Hospital sources have told Al Jazeera Arabic that at least 24 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in Israeli strikes across the besieged Palestinian territory since dawn.

The majority of the killings occurred in central and southern Gaza, including 13 people killed in central Gaza alone as truce negotiations continue to face serious obstacles.

According to reports, the Israeli bombardment struck several residential neighborhoods, leaving widespread destruction and further complicating the prospects for a ceasefire.

The talks, described as “difficult,” are underway amid mounting international pressure to end the violence that has devastated Gaza in recent weeks.

Witnesses reported multiple explosions overnight and into the early morning, with emergency services struggling to respond to the growing number of casualties.
