Geneva: Former U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly left the G7 summit today and called for the evacuation of all Americans from Tehran, citing “imminent military escalation” between Israel and Iran.
Trump stated, “The situation is out of control. We urge all our citizens and diplomats to leave Iran immediately.”
According to regional sources, Israel launched targeted strikes overnight following rocket attacks reportedly orchestrated by Iran-backed militias. Dozens have been killed on both sides.
Meanwhile, Iran’s foreign ministry denounced the U.S. stance, calling it “provocative and unfounded.” Tehran has placed its air defenses on high alert across several provinces.
At the G7 summit, Trump's departure surprised many leaders. France's Emmanuel Macron said the move sends a “dangerous signal,” while Germany urged restraint on all sides.
The UN Security Council has scheduled an emergency meeting, and observers warn the situation could spiral into a full-scale regional war.
