“Food Has Become an Opportunity for Killing” – Former UN Aid Chief Slams Israel Over Gaza Aid Crisis
Former United Nations humanitarian aid chief Martin Griffiths has strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, describing the situation as “unprecedented” and “horrific.” He accused Israeli forces of targeting Palestinians who were desperately seeking food and humanitarian assistance.
“I’ve never heard of such a thing — where food becomes an opportunity for killing,” Griffiths said. “That is not humanitarian work. That is a war tactic. And the world must respond to this atrocity.”
The comments come amid growing criticism over what humanitarian groups are calling a “death trap” disguised as food distribution. Griffiths claimed that aid systems were being manipulated to lure starving civilians into danger zones.
“We’re watching people being baited with aid. It’s unthinkable. It’s immoral. And it must stop,” he added.
These statements have sparked international calls for independent investigations and renewed demands for an immediate ceasefire to allow real humanitarian relief into Gaza.
